We suggest most people start with the 3 Basics;

1. Cleanser
2. Hydrating Mist or Serums (see below to choose)
3. Moisturizer

Then for additional support:

+ Face Oils  – for added nutrition and night-time treatments
+ Exfoliants & Masks  – as a once or twice weekly treatment, these are a great way to help your skin adapt to their new products.

These products provide the all important water for our skin. If our skin is not properly hydrated it cannot be truly healthy.

The Hydrating Mists are lighter and less concentrated/ absorbable so ideal for skin with a lesser need for additional water. Choose a mist if you are younger and/or the outside temperatures are warmer.

The Hydrating Serums are more concentrated and a much more absorbable form of hydration, ideal for skin in need of a significant water boost. Choose a serum if your skin is more mature and/or the outside temperatures are cooler.

(Warmer air naturally hold more moisture so is less dehydrating for our skin. Conversely, cold air contains less of it’s own moisture and is therefore very drying for our skin.)

Our skin contains both oils and water, and both are equally important in having healthy radiant skin. Traditional face creams are a combination of both water and oil in the jar, but I have created my products differently.

I keep my oils and waters separate, for a couple of very important reasons.

• Firstly, as soon as water is added to oil in a formulation it introduces the potential for bacteria, which need water to grow and survive; that’s why we find so many preservatives in skin care.By keeping water separate I have eliminated the need for preservatives which are some of the most harmful and irritant ingredients in skincare.
• Secondly, we all have different needs when it comes to the balance of oil and water in our skin care. Do you like really light skin lotions whereas your best friend needs a really rich thick cream? By keeping the oil and water separate you can tailor your products exactly to your needs, seasonally, monthly and even daily. That means Helena Lane Skincare works for everyone!
• Also water will often make up over 2/3 of a product so keeping water separate means that my products are much more concentrated.

Therefore, not only are they preservative free and better for sensitive skin but also they last longer, are better value and save on packaging. Win win win win win!

We are certified with the Leaping Bunny which means we do not test any finished products on animals and we do not use any ingredients that have been tested on animals.

Our products are packaged in recyclable and reusable glass bottles and shipped using biodegradable packing materials. We pack our orders using recycled paper and biodegradable starch packing peanuts. Please recycle or reuse the paper and the peanuts can be reused or washed safely down the sink!
