Water-Free Skincare

Our skin contains both oils and water, and both are equally important in having healthy radiant skin. Traditional face creams are a combination of both water and oil in the jar, but I have created my products differently…

I keep my oils and waters separate, for a couple of very important reasons.

• Firstly, as soon as water is added to oil in a formulation it introduces the potential for bacteria, which need water to grow and survive; that’s why we find so many preservatives in skin care. By keeping water separate I have eliminated the need for preservatives which are some of the most harmful and irritant ingredients in skincare.
• Secondly, we all have different needs when it comes to the balance of oil and water in our skin care. Do you like really light skin lotions whereas your best friend needs a really rich thick cream? By keeping the oil and water separate you can tailor your products exactly to your needs, seasonally, monthly and even daily. That means Helena Lane Skincare works for everyone!
• Also water will often make up over 2/3 of a product so keeping water separate means that my products are much more concentrated.

Therefore, not only are they preservative free and better for sensitive skin but also they last longer, are better value and save on packaging. Win win win win win!
